Clare Von Stitch

Clare Von Stich is one of the most rock'n'roll and all-round rebel women you'll ever meet. Savage Sweethearts is her NFT collection of badass women that stay true to their hearts.

The artwork is inspired by old school tattoo style, pinup girls and rockabilly art, which unites into a distinct and bold style. We hope you enjoy the interview!

Can you introduce yourself? Are you a full time artist?

My name is Clare, I am a tattoo artist and I also run a small leather goods and chain stitching business called TrueBlue666 (http://trueblue666.com) where i make one-of-a-kind goods, mainly 70's chopper seats and little things wallets and purses. I spend my days either designing/ painting/ leather tooling/ stitching /tattooing or sewing.

How did you get into arts? Is it something you've been doing all your life?

I was always surrounded by art as a child. My mom is a ballet dancer/choreographer and my dad is a professor of arts and stage designer. so I kind of grew up in the theater. As a teen i got very drawn to tattooing, lowbrow art and Kustom Kulture. I studied fashion design, but I was always more interested in designing tattoos and listening to cool music, so yes, I was always kind of into art but really mostly underground art.

What inspires you?

The biggest inspiration for me is music. I am very emotional, I draw a lot of creativity from certain feelings, also very destructive feelings, they are sometimes the most inspiring for me. Music can really intensify that even more. Sometimes I feel like I am still a child, I get inspired by nice colors, cakes and candy, vintage things, that create a feeling of beauty and happiness.

How did you hear about the NFT industry? What got you into it?

During the first corona lock down we weren't allowed to do any tattooing, the kids were at home, and I couldn't really get my work done. I started reading about crypto and got totally drawn into it. As I fell deeper and deeper into that crypto rabbit hole i discovered NFTs. I started to buy random NFTs that I liked and actually fell in love with the space as learned more and more about it.

What opportunities NFT space brought you so far, what are your future expectations?

The biggest opportunity so far was to discover a whole different world of art and communities, to be part of something, and discover the fact that I can create my own collection and grow an awesome community around my own art. While NFTs feel so early and special now, I am pretty sure that they will become more mainstream some day. I think we are so lucky to be here this early !

Can you share some female NFT artists you love?

@RebelSocietyNFT, @WomenandWeapons, @worldofwomennft, @Crypto__Chicks, @Bonny_Dolls, @Loopy_Donuts, @WoMeNFT_xyz, @AnimalCryptFarm, @tiffatronn (there are probably much more awesome women I didn't discover yet )
